HIF / IOHC - transcondylar screw guides
The overall cost includes 3D data processing, CAD virtual screw trajectory planning and guide design, and 3D printing. There are two standard print packages -
- Single drill guide
- Usually for 2.5mm drill bit (other sizes can be specified) - requires manual overdrilling of this pilot hole to desired final diameter.
- 3D print of condyle with pilot hole (autoclavable resin).
- Sequential drill guides
- Three sequential guides, usually starting at 2.5mm with intermediate and largest sizes to suit planned implant
- 3D print of condyle with pilot hole (autoclavable resin).
Options (reduced cost) include guide / guides only, and non-autoclavable condyle print.

Distal Femoral Osteotomy
Osteotomy and reduction guide system
The overall cost includes 3D data processing, CAD virtual osteotomy planning and design of osteotomy and reduction guides, and 3D printing.
If required CAD-based quantification of femoral varus and torsion is also included in the total cost, or these values can be surgeon-specified.
- Please note should this be requested and DFO prove not to be indicated a fee of £100+VAT will be invoiced to cover data processing and CAD time.
- CAD-based quantification of femoral varus and torsion can be requested as a stand-alone service for the same fee - please upload DICOMs via the "Preliminary Assessment" page and specifiy this service.
The standard print package includes -
- Osteotomy and reduction guides (biocompatible and autoclavable)
- Printed pre-correction distal femur (autoclavable – guide fit practice)
- Printed post-correction distal femur with reduction guide footprint (non-autoclavable – for pre-op plate contouring)
Options (price varies) include guides only, non-autoclavable pre-correction bone print, and additional post-op bone without reduction guide footprint (e.g. for second plate precontour).

Shoulder Arthrodesis
Osteotomy and reduction guide system
CAD-based surgical planning permits optimisation of relative scapular and humeral orientations in all angular and translational planes, the ability to accurately define arthrodesis angle, minimised loss of bone at the articular osteotomies, and maximised osteotomy surface contact.
Ideally the guide system is used with a double plating strategy, but single plating is possible if preferred.
The standard shoulder arthrodesis system includes -
- Osteotomy guides for the humerus and scapula.
- A reduction guide.
- 3D-printed models of the scapula and proxoximal humerus (for guide fit practice).
- 3D-printed post-reduction model of the humerus and scapula for plate pre-contouring.

Pantarsal Arthrodesis
Osteotomy and reduction guide system
CAD-based surgical planning permits optimisation of relative tibial and tarsal/pes orientations in all angular and translational planes, the ability to accurately define arthrodesis angle, minimised loss of bone at the articular osteotomies, and maximised osteotomy surface contact.
The standard shoulder arthrodesis system includes -
- Osteotomy guides for the tibia and talus.
- A reduction guide.
- 3D-printed models of the tibia and tarsus (for guide fit practice).
- 3D-printed post-reduction model of the tibia and tarus/pes for plate pre-contouring.

3D bone prints
The overall cost includes 3D data processing and 3D printing. Bones are printed in white, non-autoclavable resin, although options include biocompatible & autoclavable resin, autoclavable resin, and clear resin (non-autoclavable) - prices vary please ask.
Standard models are listed below, although ultimately any bone or limb segment can be printed as specified.
- Single bone print - e.g. a long bone, a joint, or up to three vertebrae.
- Limb segment - e.g. antebrachium including elbow and carpus, antebrachium including paw, longer vertebral segment, other specified limb section.
- Whole limb / complex bone print. Please note these prints can be considerably more expensive than single bones or segments due their greater volume which can complicate printing.
Although guide prices are given below these projects vary considerably in degree of data processing required and print costs - please call for a rough estimate or submit DICOMs for a more accurate estimate.

Fracture reduction guide system
The reduction guide system can be used for either traditional open reduction and internal fixation (ORIF) or minimally invasive plate osteosynthesis (MIPO).
The overall cost includes 3D data processing, CAD virtual reduction planning and design of Ellis pin orientation and reduction guides, and 3D printing. The standard print package includes -
- Ellis pin orientation guides and reduction guide
- Printed major fracture fragments – guide fit practice
- Printed post-reduction bone with reduction guide footprint
Due to time-constraints all prints are usually in autoclavable, biocompatible resin.
In most cases CAD design and printing are done on the day of receipt and are posted the following day (special delivery by 9am).
